Transfer on Death Deed
Transfer on death deeds offer owners a way to keep ownership of property while they are alive while at the same time ensuring who will be receiving the property from them when they pass, without having to worry about probate. For people who have not completed their estate planning, the transfer on death deed offers a simple way to assign ownership after one’s passing. Of course, if you change your mind while you are still alive, you can always revoke the transfer on death deed while still remaining the owner of the property. Furthermore, you are still able to sell the property without the approval of your beneficiaries.
How it works - When you hit the add to cart button, the site will generate a form for you to fill in the details of deed you want prepared. Once it’s submitted, we will prepare a deed draft for review by email. You’ll have the opportunity to make revisions to the deed, up to a total of three redrafts. Any additional redrafts after that will be covered by an hourly rate.
The deed has to be notarized by the current owners before recording. In addition to notarizing the deed in our offices, we also offer the option to set up an online notarization for the owners to be able to sign electronically at no additional charge - sign anywhere at anytime.
This fee only covers the deed and the recording fee charged by the courthouse to record the deed.
